Last Thursday, our Art 410 class watched a BBC documentary called, "The History of Computers, Part 1." (On Youtube, it was under the title The Machine That Changed the World, Part 5 of 5) I came in late, missing a bit of the first part of the movie, but that in the grand scheme of things is not as important as what I took from it. Also, I scourged the internet to find this video so I wouldn't miss any facts....
First of all, Wow, Singapore.
I may have underestimated Southeast Asia! The country has been in the midst of a technological revolution. Apparently, Singapore wants a piece of the (global) action... I don't have much to speak of in terms of actual technology. I am more interested in the impact on their society and culture.
